DG: Eta Kappa Do Good
Anchor Splash '07!

What is Anchor Splash®?

Anchor Splash® — when fraternities, sororities and non-Greek organizations compete in swimming events — is a major fundraiser of the Delta Gamma collegians! It is one of the most well recognized philanthropic fundraisers in the Greek world today. Funds from this event support Delta Gamma's Philanthropies: Service for Sight, Scholarships, Fellowships and Loans, Values and Ethics Lectureships, as well as a number of educational programs for our members.

Begun in 1966 at Beta Tau Chapter, the University of Miami (FL), as a way to celebrate their 25th anniversary, Anchor Splash has spread to chapters across North America. More than 110 Delta Gamma chapters annually hold a splash! Competition includes the zany tube races to serious relay events. An ever-popular display of skill is often seen in the "water ballet." Both campus and community heavily support Anchor Splash! On many campuses, it is the most popular event of the school year!

By donating at least 50% of the proceeds of Anchor Splash® to the Delta Gamma Foundation, participating chapters of Delta Gamma are furthering the Fraternity's ability to "Do Good!"

Anchor Splash® at NCSU:

The Eta Kappa Chapter of Delta Gamma held it's first annual Anchor Splash on April 17th, 2004. The sisters of Eta Kappa worked hard to get everything ready to have a fun filled and successful philanthropy event! The competition included events such as: synchronized swimming, save the mermaid, and other fun events. There was also a Most Beautiful Eyes® contest. Keep your ears open for more details on this years competition! The current Anchor Splash® champions were Alpha Delta Pi (for the sororities) and FIJI (for the fraternities)! See pictures of the 2006 and 2007 events in our Photo Gallery.

If you think your Greek Letter Organization or Campus Organization would be interested in competing in our Anchor Splash® Philanthropy event in the future, contact the director of Anchor Splash®, Sally Taylor.
